The
Telinc TL3452 E-1 DSU provides the interface between customer
equipment and an E-1 or fractional E-1 facility. It may be
used in pairs on an E-1 carrier facility, in drop-and-insert
applications or as an LDM on customer-provided four-wire facilities.
It includes twenty-one front-panel indicators that show status
on a full time basis.
Two
User Channels
The
TL3452 provides two user channels, a synchronous channel and
a PBX drop-and-insert channel. The synchronous channel can
operate at any multiple of 64 Kbps. X.21 and V.35 interfaces
are included as standard.
The
thirty-one time slots may be given to the PBX or synchronous
interface or allocated between them on a contiguous or non-contiguous
basis. Time slot 16 can be used for signaling bits or for
data, providing up to 1.984 Mbps of usable bandwidth.
Timing
can be from the network, from the synchronous channel, from
the PBX channel or internal. The TL3452 is also available
without the PBX drop-and-insert channel as the TL3450.

SNMP
Management
The
Telinc E-1 DSU can be controlled from the front panel, from
a local or remote ASCII console or from an SNMP management
platform. Like other Telinc products, TL3452 units include
an embedded SNMP agent and are MIB II-compliant. They support
SNMP gets, sets and traps.
The
TL3452 can also be configured with DIP switches conveniently
located behind the front panel. Each switch is clearly marked.
Full
Time Status Reporting
Twenty-one
LEDs show full operating status at all times. Testing of the
local and the remote, unattended unit is initiated using front-panel
switches or from the console. The user can choose from three
local and two remote loopbacks. A built-in 2047 pattern generator
and checker is also included.
Multi-Unit
Installation
The TL3452 console port supports VT100 terminals and dial
modems. Up to eight units can be daisy-chained together and
controlled by a single console. A rack mount frame is available
for mounting up to eight units. |
