T-1, Fractional T-1 and Frame Relay applications

Two long haul T-1 Interfaces for Drop-and-Insert

V.35, RS232 and RS530/RS422 interfaces

Clock smoothing

SNMP, front panel and VT100 programming

Built-in pattern generator and checker

21 front panel LED indicators

The Telinc TL3552 T-1 CSU/DSU provides the interface between customer equipment and a T-1 or fractional T-1 facility. It supports D4 or ESF framing with AMI or B8ZS coding and includes twenty-one front panel indicators that show complete status on a full time basis.

Two User Channels

The TL3552 provides two user channels, a synchronous channel and a DSX1 drop-and-insert channel. Unlike competing units, the Telinc DSX1 channel includes a long-haul T-1 interface which can be connected to another T-1 CSU/DSU located up to 6000 feet away. The TL3552 is also available without the DSX1 channel as the TL3550.

The synchronous channel can operate at any multiple of 56 or 64 Kbps. V.35, RS232 and RS530/RS422 interfaces are included as standard. The twenty-four DS0s may be given to either the DSX1 or synchronous interface or allocated between them on a contiguous or non-contiguous basis. Timing can be from the network, from the synchronous channel, from the DSX1 channel or internal.

SNMP Management

TL3552 T-1 CSU/DSUs can be controlled from the front panel, from a local or remote ASCII console or from an SNMP management platform. Like other Telinc products, TL3552 units include an embedded SNMP agent and are MIB II-compliant. They support SNMP gets, sets and traps. The TL3552 can also be configured with DIP switches conveniently located behind the front panel. Each switch is clearly marked.

Full Time Status Reporting

Twenty-one LEDs show full operating status at all times. Testing of the local and the remote, unattended unit is initiated using front panel switches or from the console. Front panel monitor jacks on the customer interface provide convenient access for external test equipment.

Multi-Unit Installations

The TL3552 console port supports dial modems and VT100 terminals. Up to eight units can be daisy-chained together and controlled by a single console. A rack mount frame is available for mounting up to eight units.

Specifications

V.35, RS232, RS530/RS422, DSX1 interfaces and a console port are included as standard with the TL3552. The TL3550 is identical except there is no DSX1 connector.
